As a person that is unapologetically pro-life, I believe that life begins at conception and that all life has value, from conception to natural death. Abortion is not healthcare. Healthcare is always intended to preserve life and improve the quality of that life, whereas abortion always ends in the taking of a life. Many women, after undergoing an abortion suffer from lifelong guilt and depression. I have been asked many times about what should be done in the case of unplanned pregnancies, or pregnancies in low income families? I would like to expand the support of our area pregnancies crisis centers. These organizations work with women and couples, providing counseling and resource information during and after the pregnancies. I am also in favor of streamlining and improving the adoption process. I will support efforts to make adoption less costly and more readily accessible to couples that qualify.
